| I was based at Lower Ottoway Lake in Yosemite's Clark Range on a backpacking trip. This lake is in the shadow of Red Peak, and the trail to the lake continues up and over the spine of the Clark Range at Red Peak Pass, a little over 11,200' in elevation. I made the trek up to the pass one evening in time to spend sundown and the evening twilight there, hoping for some sort of light display (and expecting to hike down by flashlight). I got lucky, for Nature did not disappoint. Among the other fine images I got that evening is this one of Mts. Banner and Ritter, showpieces of the Ansel Adams Wilderness, under an umbrella of lenticular clouds. |
