
| Shooting close-ups like this is called "macro photography" in photo circles. It usually takes special equipment (which isn't necessarily all that expensive). What it always takes is a lot of patience. Moving the camera by a millimeter can make or break an image, so there is a lot of futzing around involved in setting up the shot. Then one must wait for the breeze to stop. For this image I was careful to arrange all three flowers to be at the same distance from the camera so that they'd all be in good focus. The overcast day provided a wonderful, soft light to bring out the delicacy of the blossoms. |
