| When I was backpacking and auto touring through California's Eastern Sierra last fall, the aspens were just beginning to change. The river drainage valleys leading up into the Sierra had the best color. I amused myself by taking a day exploring as many of the drainages I could. In many, the fall color was premature, but I found this wonderful stand of aspens in one of them. A polarizing filter on my camera helped bring out the intensity of the golden color, as well as darkening the blue sky for a rich color contrast. |
